Blazar Viper 3-Lens Set T2.1 1.5X Full Frame Anamorphic Lenses

The Blazar Viper 3-Lens Set combines the 35mm, 50mm, and 75mm lenses into a compact manual-focus anamorphic toolkit built for filmmakers who want a consistent cinematic look across their entire production. Designed around a constant 1.5x anamorphic squeeze ratio, fast T2.1 apertures, and full-frame coverage, the Viper set delivers wide environmental shots, natural mid-range compositions, and tighter portrait-style framing with matching visual character, elegant oval bokeh, refined rainbow flares, and a lightweight cinema-ready form factor.

A Complete Full-Frame Anamorphic Core Set

The Blazar Viper 3-Lens Set covers the most important focal lengths for modern cinematic storytelling. The 35mm provides a broad and immersive perspective for establishing shots, moving camera work, and environmental framing. The 50mm offers a balanced, natural field of view that works beautifully for dialogue scenes, narrative coverage, and versatile commercial production. The 75mm adds tighter framing, stronger compression, and more emotional subject isolation for portraits, interviews, and cinematic close-ups. Together, these three lenses form a flexible and production-friendly set that can handle the majority of real-world filmmaking scenarios.

Consistent 1.5X Anamorphic Look Across All Focal Lengths

One of the key strengths of the Blazar Viper series is visual consistency. Each lens in the set shares the same 1.5x squeeze ratio, helping cinematographers maintain a unified anamorphic signature throughout a project. Highlights stretch naturally, backgrounds take on a distinctly oval rendering, and the frame gains the widescreen depth that makes anamorphic cinematography so compelling. Blazar’s optical design also gives the set a richer 1.8x-style bokeh character, adding a more luxurious and dimensional quality to out-of-focus areas without making the image feel overly exaggerated.

Fast T2.1 Speed for Low-Light Filmmaking and Subject Separation

All three lenses in the Blazar Viper 3-Lens Set feature a bright T2.1 aperture, making the set highly attractive for low-light cinematography, practical-light interiors, night scenes, and productions where subject separation plays an important role. This consistent speed across the entire kit allows filmmakers to move between focal lengths without changing their exposure strategy or sacrificing the shallow depth and cinematic falloff that make anamorphic imagery feel immersive and premium.

Full Frame and Vista Vision Coverage for Modern Cinema Cameras

The Viper set is built to cover full-frame and Vista Vision sensors, making it well suited to a wide range of modern cinema and hybrid production cameras. This broad image coverage gives filmmakers the freedom to take full advantage of larger sensors while preserving the character, width, and depth expected from anamorphic glass. Whether used for narrative filmmaking, commercials, branded content, or music videos, the set offers a cinematic image language designed for current-generation production workflows.

Compact Cinema Design for Handheld, Gimbal, and Mobile Rigs

Traditional anamorphic lens kits can become large, heavy, and slow down production. The Blazar Viper 3-Lens Set takes a more agile approach. With approximate weights of just 579g for the 35mm, 591g for the 50mm, and 633g for the 75mm, the set remains highly manageable for handheld rigs, compact cinema builds, gimbal setups, sliders, and fast-moving productions. This makes the Viper kit especially appealing for owner-operators, small crews, and filmmakers who need a real anamorphic image without the burden of oversized cinema lenses.

Unified Handling for Faster Lens Changes

The Viper series is designed with practical on-set usability in mind. All three lenses share a consistent 80mm front diameter, 77mm filter thread, 16-blade aperture design, and 200° focus rotation. That consistency helps simplify lens swaps, filter use, matte box integration, and focus-pulling across the set. For productions that need to move quickly while preserving a high-end visual style, this uniformity is a major advantage.

Manual Cinema Precision with Refined Optical Discipline

The Blazar Viper 3-Lens Set is made for filmmakers who value the tactile precision of manual focus. Each lens features a dedicated manual cinema housing that supports deliberate focus transitions and controlled operation on set. Optically, the series is tuned for strong edge-to-edge sharpness, minimal focus breathing, and carefully controlled barrel distortion, avoiding the distracting fishbowl effect often associated with less refined anamorphic designs. The result is a set that feels cinematic and character-rich, yet disciplined enough for demanding commercial and professional use.

Rainbow Flares with a More Elegant Anamorphic Signature

Rather than relying on overly aggressive streaking, the Viper lenses produce soft, organic, and predictable rainbow flares that add atmosphere without taking over the image. This refined flare behavior helps the set remain flexible across many shooting styles, from mood-driven narrative lighting to cleaner branded content and stylized music videos. The look is unmistakably anamorphic, but better controlled and easier to integrate into polished productions.

Viper vs. Talon vs. Mantis

The Blazar Viper 3-Lens Set is the right choice for filmmakers who want a complete manual-focus anamorphic kit with a stronger 1.5x anamorphic signature and a compact cinema-oriented form factor. Compared to the Talon series, the Viper set is designed for creators who prefer a traditional manual focus workflow rather than autofocus-based shooting. Talon lenses prioritize speed and autofocus convenience, while the Viper set emphasizes tactile control, repeatable focus work, and a more deliberate cinematic process.

Compared to the Mantis series, the Viper lineup offers a more pronounced 1.5x anamorphic squeeze, resulting in a more assertive widescreen look and a richer anamorphic rendering style. Mantis is an excellent option for users who need broader mirrorless mount flexibility and a wider focal length selection, but the Viper 3-Lens Set stands out for filmmakers who want a more intense anamorphic image with matched manual cine handling across a focused three-lens package.

In practical terms, the Blazar Viper 3-Lens Set is ideal for cinematographers who want more anamorphic presence than Mantis and a more classical shooting experience than Talon. It gives filmmakers a coherent wide-to-portrait lens trio that feels equally suitable for narrative productions, commercials, music videos, handheld work, and compact high-end cinema setups.

EF Mount Compatibility – Please Read

PLEASE NOTE: Several Blazar lenses fitted with the official Blazar EF mount have a large rear protrusion that can prevent proper mounting on certain EF cameras and adapters. This applies to: Remus 33mm, Cato 40mm, and Mantis 25/35/50/75/100mm.

When EF Compatibility Is Unlikely (Incompatible Example)

  • Older DSLRs that use a physical mirror and/or mechanical shutter assemblies.
  • Speed boosters or EF adapters that contain optical elements, drop-in filters, or similar modules.
  • Electronic EF adapters with internal contacts, boards, or housings that extend into the mount.
  • Cameras/adapters with any parts that protrude deep inside the EF throat. If components extend past the inner mount boundary (see “Incompatible Example”), Blazar EF lenses may not seat or lock.

When EF Compatibility Is More Likely (More Compatible Example)

  • Passive (non-electronic) EF adapters with a clear, open throat.
  • Cameras/adapters that have no glass elements, drop-in filter modules, or internal parts sticking into the mount (see “More Compatible Example”).

How to Self-Check Before You Buy

  1. Review the protrusion specs: Each Blazar lens has a technical diagram listing its rear protrusion for PL and EF mounts.
  2. Compare against your camera/adapter: If your body/adapter’s maximum supported protrusion is greater than the lens protrusion, mounting should be possible.
  3. Inspect the mount cavity: Look for electronics, glass, or mechanical parts extending past the inner mount circle—these are common points of interference.

Need the Drawings?

You’ll find technical diagrams for all Blazar lenses—showing rear protrusion measurements for both PL and EF—below on this page. Use these to confirm fit with your specific EF camera or adapter.

Questions?

If you’re unsure about your setup, contact us with your camera model and (if applicable) the exact adapter brand/model. We’re happy to help verify EF compatibility before you order.
