EF mount compatibility

Some Blazar lenses with the official EF mount reach deep into the camera. On certain EF cameras and adapters, the rear of the lens hits parts inside the mount, so the lens won't seat or lock. Please check this before you order.

  • DSLRs with a mirror and/or mechanical shutter
  • Speed boosters and EF adapters with glass, drop-in filters or similar modules
  • Electronic EF adapters with contacts, boards or housings inside the mount
  • Cameras and adapters with parts that reach deep into the EF throat

  • Passive EF adapters without electronics and with a clear, open throat

    Find the rear protrusion

    The technical drawings below show how far each lens protrudes at the rear with PL and EF mount.

  2. 2

    Compare with your camera or adapter

    If the maximum protrusion your camera or adapter allows is greater than the lens value, it should fit.

  3. 3

    Look into the mount

    Electronics, glass or mechanical parts that reach past the inner ring are the usual points of contact.

Using more than one adapter? Check each one separately. Tolerances vary between brands and even between production runs.
