About this lens
The Blazar Talon 75mm T2.1 1.5X Anamorphic AF is the telephoto flagship of the Talon autofocus anamorphic series, created for filmmakers who want strong subject separation, cinematic compression, and unmistakable anamorphic character in a lightweight, modern form factor. Combining a 1.5× anamorphic squeeze with a bright T2.1 aperture and an integrated autofocus system, the Talon 75mm delivers expressive close-ups, smooth oval bokeh, and elegant horizontal flares while remaining compact enough for handheld and gimbal cinematography.
The 75mm focal length introduces a natural telephoto compression that draws attention directly to your subject while gently pushing the background into a wide, cinematic blur. With the 1.5× squeeze factor, highlights stretch horizontally and backgrounds gain a layered, three-dimensional feel that is highly sought after in portrait cinematography, interviews, and emotional narrative scenes. Despite its telephoto nature, the Talon 75mm maintains a clean rendering that balances modern sharpness with organic anamorphic texture.
Close-up cinematography demands accuracy, and the Talon 75mm integrates a responsive autofocus system with subject and eye tracking (camera dependent) to keep faces sharp even during subtle movement. A dedicated AF/MF switch enables instant transition into manual focus mode for deliberate rack-focus moments or stylized cinematic transitions. This flexibility makes the lens equally suited for solo shooters and controlled production environments.
Traditional anamorphic telephoto lenses are often large and heavy. The Talon 75mm breaks that pattern with a lightweight, gimbal-friendly build that integrates effortlessly into shoulder rigs, sliders, and handheld setups. A consistent 80mm front diameter and 77mm filter thread across the Talon lineup allow quick lens swaps and uninterrupted use of ND filters, diffusion filters, and matte boxes without rebalancing your equipment.
The Blazar Talon 75mm delivers the emotional impact of a telephoto anamorphic lens without the bulk of traditional cinema glass. It empowers filmmakers to capture intimate cinematic moments, striking portrait depth, and refined widescreen visuals while staying mobile and efficient on set.
