Blazar Beetle 65mm T3.2 1.33x Anamorphic Lens – Cinematic Compression in a Pocket-Sized Build

The Blazar Beetle 65mm T3.2 1.33x Anamorphic Lens delivers rich cinematic compression, stunning subject separation, and expressive anamorphic flares – all in one of the lightest full-frame telephoto anamorphic lenses ever made. Designed with mobility in mind, the Beetle 65mm gives you classic long-lens character in a compact, rotating pancake form that fits into any filmmaker’s kit.

With its 1.33x squeeze factor, the lens transforms a standard full-frame image into a widescreen 2:1 aspect ratio while preserving sensor resolution. Its fixed T3.2 aperture offers consistent exposure, while the long 200° manual focus throw ensures smooth, precise racking even at shallow depths of field. The unique rotating front element lets you switch between horizontal and vertical framing without affecting flare orientation – a huge advantage for creative shooters working across multiple formats.

Key Features of the Beetle 65mm

  • 1.33x Anamorphic Squeeze – Creates a cinematic 2:1 image on full-frame sensors without digital cropping
  • Full-Frame Coverage – Supports 36×24 mm sensors across popular mirrorless camera systems
  • 65mm Focal Length – Delivers natural compression and flattering perspective, ideal for portraits and close-ups
  • Fixed T3.2 Aperture – Balanced for low light and creative depth of field control
  • Rotating Front Section – Maintain horizontal flares even when shooting vertical content
  • 200° Manual Focus Throw – Allows for cinematic focus pulls with fine control
  • 55mm Filter Thread – Accepts standard ND or effects filters for exposure and creative control
  • Ultra-Compact & Lightweight – Weighs under 300 g and fits easily into gimbal or run-and-gun setups

Why 65mm Makes a Difference

Longer focal lengths bring depth, intimacy, and dramatic visual compression to your frame. The Beetle 65mm lets you create powerful close-ups with smooth bokeh and minimal distortion, all while delivering the unmistakable visual style of an anamorphic lens. It’s perfect for interviews, product shots, narrative scenes, and anywhere you want the subject to pop against a softly rendered background.

Who It’s For

The Blazar Beetle 65mm is built for creators who want a cinematic edge in compact setups. Whether you're filming beauty shots, creative portraits, or close-range storytelling, this lens offers pro-level image quality in a form factor optimized for modern workflows – gimbals, drones, sliders, handheld rigs and more.

How to Reverse Charge

We offer Reverse Charge for our business customers within the EU. This means that businesses within the EU with a valid VAT number can make purchases without paying the German VAT, which is 19%. However, this does not apply to German business customers, as our shop is based in Germany.

Here is a video which explains how to use reverse-charge:
To make a VAT-free purchase, simply add the products to your shopping cart and then go to the cart, not directly to the checkout. In the cart, you will see all prices including VAT. Scroll down until you find the reverse charge form. Here, you need to enter your VAT number, including your country code, and your email address. Once entered, press the checkout button, and your VAT number will be verified.
If your VAT number is valid, you will receive a notification in the checkout indicating that the prices have been adjusted accordingly and the VAT has been removed.

If this process does not work for you, please don't place your order now, as we cannot refund VAT after the purchase. Instead, contact us with your VAT number and the products you want to order. We will create a manual order for you without VAT.

EF Mount Compatibility – Please Read

PLEASE NOTE: Several Blazar lenses fitted with the official Blazar EF mount have a large rear protrusion that can prevent proper mounting on certain EF cameras and adapters. This applies to: Remus 33mm, Cato 40mm, and Mantis 25/35/50/75/100mm.

When EF Compatibility Is Unlikely (Incompatible Example)

  • Older DSLRs that use a physical mirror and/or mechanical shutter assemblies.
  • Speed boosters or EF adapters that contain optical elements, drop-in filters, or similar modules.
  • Electronic EF adapters with internal contacts, boards, or housings that extend into the mount.
  • Cameras/adapters with any parts that protrude deep inside the EF throat. If components extend past the inner mount boundary (see “Incompatible Example”), Blazar EF lenses may not seat or lock.

When EF Compatibility Is More Likely (More Compatible Example)

  • Passive (non-electronic) EF adapters with a clear, open throat.
  • Cameras/adapters that have no glass elements, drop-in filter modules, or internal parts sticking into the mount (see “More Compatible Example”).

How to Self-Check Before You Buy

  1. Review the protrusion specs: Each Blazar lens has a technical diagram listing its rear protrusion for PL and EF mounts.
  2. Compare against your camera/adapter: If your body/adapter’s maximum supported protrusion is greater than the lens protrusion, mounting should be possible.
  3. Inspect the mount cavity: Look for electronics, glass, or mechanical parts extending past the inner mount circle—these are common points of interference.

Need the Drawings?

You’ll find technical diagrams for all Blazar lenses—showing rear protrusion measurements for both PL and EF—below on this page. Use these to confirm fit with your specific EF camera or adapter.

Questions?

If you’re unsure about your setup, contact us with your camera model and (if applicable) the exact adapter brand/model. We’re happy to help verify EF compatibility before you order.
